The body panels wouldn’t be able to take reentry! He chose the delorean because of the stainless steel! Anything else would disintegrate during time travel. Sheesh. Did you guys even pay attention?

It’d still be a pretty distinctive car. But I could see it being an interesting afterthought like SV-1 instead of the icon it is today.

He wouldn’t be able to get in or out of it, and to back up, he’d have to sit on the sill. Not too convenient when you’re hovering through town.

The Lambo has a much better chance of hitting 80 mph in the parking lot scene than the Delorean.
